I was in tremendous dental pain on Tuesday and waited until Wednesday at 3:30pm to reach out to the office thinking it would subside. Being that it was the end of the day I really wasn’t expecting to be seen that same day. Upon calling Nikii at the front desk informed me that if I could be there in 15-20mins she could add me to the end of the day. I was hesitant to take the appt because I felt bad calling at the end of the day and I didn’t want anyone to stay late on my account. Nikii reassured me that it would be fine. Upon arrival I was swiftly taken back and evaluated by Dr. Akbar. She took the time to go over the options I had available. She even went a step further and asked her colleague Dr. Saqqal his opinion and I was also evaluated by him. It was determined that I would need to have my tooth pulled and to my surprise the office was prepared to go ahead and preform the extraction. During all this I am watching the clock because the office closes at 5 and it is now 4:45. Again I was hesitant because I didn’t want to hold up anyone’s evening but the Dr, Assistant (Kyie), and Nikii again reassured me that it was fine. The extraction was done perfectly. I appreciate how well the Dental Assistant Kyie and Dr.Saqqal communicated what was going on during the extraction and with each other. I am very grateful to the entire team and really appreciate the empathy and kindness shown towards me. Never once during my visit did I feel like I was being rushed out.

She was thorough, patient, and exceptionally kind as she walked my wife through imaging. They took their time, adjusted with care, and approached everything with a level of attentiveness that did not feel routine. It felt intentional. At no point did we feel rushed or like the time they were giving us was a burden. That stays with you. From there, it became clear this practice is built on something uncommon. Dr. Sara Akbar, DMD came in with a calm that never wavered. She reviewed everything carefully, answered every question with patience, and made sure my wife understood her options without pressure. Nothing was rushed. Nothing was reduced to a transaction. Dr. Hazem Saqqal, DDS and the clinical team moved with quiet confidence and clarity. No chaos, no uncertainty, just steady, capable care. And then there was Nikii Flagg. She met us at the point where most places become transactional, the financial conversation. Instead of pressure, there was care. Instead of barriers, there were paths. She worked through options with us in a way that preserved dignity, and that is not something you forget. Before we left, we were told to call them directly with any concerns before going anywhere else. That kind of ownership is rare, and it says a great deal about how they stand behind their care. Dentists of Gainesville is not just a dental practice. It is a place built on something deeper than process. People here take responsibility for how others feel in their care, and they carry that responsibility well. My wife is in their hands, and for the first time in a long time, that brings real peace. I will also be bringing my father, who I care for, here as well. That says everything.
